“I’ve done everything, but Process Acupressure brought more profound changes within me than any other single work I’ve studied.”

The Spirit of Seva Project
About the Spirit of Seva Project
The Spirit of Seva Project coordinates the outreach aspect of Soul Lightening International. In the spirit of seva (compassionate service), our goal is to promote research and spread Soul Lightening Acupressure worldwide. We envision a time when this technique is available in all corners of the world, and taught to anyone who wishes to learn, regardless of age, race, gender, or socio-economic level. We believe the pathway to this goal is to partner with existing organizations by offering treatments and training workshops to targeted populations. The established relationship between these organizations and their communities will be our primary link with "grassroots" communities around the world.
These are some the areas we have explored so far:
- The Seva/Stress Acupressure Release: developed after 9/11 and taken to the rescue workers at Ground Zero in New York City
- The Seva/Stress Acupressure Release is a 15-minute protocol designed for beginners and professionals alike, with the broadest implications for world outreach
- Crossings Healingworks: offering acupressure at the Restore & Renew Wellness Clinic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
- Capacitar: offering self-help strategies for healing in underserved communities around the world
- Hospice: a special acupressure formula developed for comfort and support at the end of life
- Girl Scouts of America: using the Seva/Stress Release as a creative way to earn the "stress management" badge
- Women's Health: a special acupressure formula developed to enhance and support women's health issues
- Research at Towson University, using acupressure as a self-help tool for stress. Presented at the American Psychological Association convention in 2006.
These are some of the areas we are interested in developing:
- Acupuncturists Without Borders: offering Seva/Stress Release training to acupuncturists for treating individuals in crisis who will not tolerate needles
- WeCare Vets: offering Soul Lightening Acupressure to military veterans in California
- Whitman-Walker Clinic & the HIV/Aids community: teaching and delivering a specific acupressure formula to support the body's natural immune system function
- www.HealOurWarriors.com: offering acupressure treatments in a retreat setting
- Offering acupressure training to mothers and local healers in war-torn and remote countries
- Working with labor and delivery nurses to use acupressure to assist with the birthing process, and enhance post-natal recovery
- Creating a clinical study exploring the change in cortisol levels before and after receiving acupressure
- Replicating research studies of acupuncture, utilizing acupressure instead
- Partnering with companies to assess the effect of acupressure on morale and productivity: self-care and/or receiving bi-monthly acupressure sessions
- Creating 6-week programs for specific health-care populations (cardiac, diabetes, etc.) teaching self-care with acupressure, gentle Tai Chi, and awareness journaling
- Training Soldiers to use acupressure for self-care to address post-traumatic stress
What are the intended results of our program?
Soul Lightening Acupressure can provide an essential few moments of rest and rejuvenation, or it can provide a profound turning point for an individual to move toward true healing at the deepest levels. Individuals who receive this work experience a method for supporting “whole-person wellness.” They recognize this as an authentic tool for healing as they experience the restoration and revitalization of core energies in their own body, mind, and spirit.

About Soul Lightening Acupressure
In all parts of the world it is very clear that the effects of extreme or prolonged stress are not limited to those who experience it, but also by their loved ones, co-workers, and the greater community. In the spirit of Seva (compassionate service)----we believe the individuals who receive and/or practice this deep and effective tool for healing will have a positive, healthy impact upon their families, their communities, and the world. As more and more individuals come into harmony within their own being, the balancing effect on their families and their communities expands as well.
The Dalai Lama has said “although creating world peace through individual transformation is difficult…it is the only way.”
Why Did We Choose Acupressure As The Vehicle For Our Program?
Acupressure is the practice of applying hand or finger pressure to specific energetic or conductive points on the body. It is based upon the same ancient principles as the art of acupuncture, except that It uses the softer form of curved finger pressure on the points. Recipients of this work report feeling nurtured and supported.
