Mentorship for Certification Candidates

Each student in the certification program will have a mentor to support, assist, and guide them through the process. The certification coordinator will assist each candidate with finding an approved mentor. The mentor will oversee clinical practice and case consultation (minimum 4 hours @ $65 per hour) and be available to provide support and answer questions throughout the certification process. Any individual acupressure sessions with the mentor are paid for at the mentor’s usual hourly rate. Each candidate will write reports on a specified number of treatment sessions. These reports will be reviewed by the mentor.

Professional Licensing

Each certification candidate must provide the documentation required in their state of residence and/or practice granting permission to offer hands-on bodywork. Clinical Acupressure candidates must already have a solid background in the professional healthcare field, to include certification or licensing for their particular discipline (e.g. therapeutic massage, physical therapy, etc).

Curriculum & Tuition

The Process Acupressure and Clinical Acupressure coursework is designed to teach basic skills in the beginning classes that will serve as a foundation throughout the learning process. Candidates may then choose to follow the Clinical Acupressure track or the Process Acupressure track to build upon those skills. All students are expected to do work on themselves alone, and encouraged to participate in bodywork exchanges, acupressure partnering, and study groups whenever possible.

Awareness Journal

Students in the Certification Programs are expected to do work on themselves alone. The following downloadable document provides an introduction to this and also provides a place for recording brief notes. The actual case report forms you will receive when you sign up for certification are more detailed.
