Soul Lightening International is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. We were established as a 501c3 Educational Nonprofit
in May of 2001.

The Soul Lightening International board of directors is a group of volunteers dedicated to the stewardship of our organization. Their primary function is to define and oversee the activities of Soul Lightening as established in the Articles of Incorporation and the established bylaws of the organization. Directors hold office for three year terms. Each member of the board of directors oversees a specific aspect of the organization, and acts as a liaison between the Soul Lightening community and the Board of Directors on issues under their purview.

The Soul Lightening International Board of Directors meets quarterly via conference call, and occasionally for discussion/voting on special issues. The board also meets once per year for an in-person retreat following the annual conference. The official annual meeting, where officers are elected, occurs within the first quarter of each year.

Special Committees within the Soul Lightening International Board of Directors are as follows:
The Executive Committee is comprised of the President, Treasurer, and Secretary of the board. Other board members, special consultants, and/or community members may be asked to advise this committee as needed. The Executive Committee meets bi-monthly via conference call.
